ASC Screening Committee

The body within the Ad Standards Council that reviews submitted advertising material against the Code of Ethics.

The Screening Committee is the working body within the ASC that evaluates submitted advertising material against the Code of Ethics and Manual of Procedures. It returns one of three outcomes: Approved, Approved with revisions, or Disapproved.

The committee is typically composed of senior practitioners drawn from advertiser, agency, and media member organizations, on a rotating basis. Decisions can be appealed through formal escalation procedures defined in the Manual.
